Bequests to RY

There are many ways you can support RainbowYOUTH with a gift in your will. This gift can take any form that is your preference and appropriate to your situation.

Types of Bequest

General bequest:
This can mean a monetary amount or a specific item, such as the proceeds of a life insurance policy, stocks and shares, clothing, books, works of art, vehicles, jewelry and even homes.

Wording in your will:

I give (…………………………..) to Rainbow Youth Inc. (Charity Registration #: CC24284) for any purposes they see fit..
I declare that the receipt of the secretary, treasurer or other proper officer of the nominated beneficiary will be a full discharge for my trustees who will not be bound to see its application.

Specific bequest:
This is fairly similar to above, however, you can determine what the bequest goes towards (ie, launching an initiative, supporting a group). For this to work, you need to consult with RainbowYOUTH before making any changes to your will.

Wording in your will:

I give ($…………………………..) to Rainbow Youth Inc. (Charity Registration #: CC24284). for the purpose of________________.
I declare that the receipt of the secretary, treasurer or other proper officer of the nominated beneficiary will be a full discharge for my trustees who will not be bound to see its application.

Residuary bequest:
This means that after all other debts, payments and gifts are settled by your will, you are left with a “residuary estate” and a percentage (or all of it, if you’re feeling generous) of this can be gifted to Rainbow Youth. This is a good choice as it prevents inflation from interfering with how much you wish to gift.

Wording in your will:

I give (……………………..) per cent of the residue of my estate to Rainbow Youth for its general purposes.
I declare that the receipt of the secretary, treasurer or other proper officer of the nominated beneficiary will be a full discharge for my trustees who will not be bound to see its application.

Whole estate bequest:
A bequest that comprises the entire estate usually left by those without dependants, favored beneficiaries, or those wanting to achieve something very special.

Wording in your will:

I give the residue of my estate to Rainbow Youth for its general purposes.
I declare that the receipt of the secretary, treasurer or other proper officer of the nominated beneficiary will be a full discharge for my trustees who will not be bound to see its application.
