AGM 2018

We’re holding our Annual General Meeting on Sunday 24 June

The event is a chance for the whole RY whānau to come together to celebrate the hard work that staff, board, members and volunteers put into achieving RY’s goals & projects.

There will be free kai and networking opportunities, as well as a chance to become familiar with what RainbowYOUTH has done over the last 12 months. Members of RainbowYOUTH, friends, whānau and community professionals are all warmly invited to attend this open event.

Before the formal proceeding for the AGM, we’re taking the time to remember one of our life members, Daniel, who passed away in April this year. We invite those who knew him during his time at RainbowYOUTH to join us.

The Annual General Meeting is also a time when the current RainbowYOUTH Executive Board stands down, and new members can apply to be elected onto the board.

Our Executive Board comprises of 8 individuals aged 27 and under. They come together in a volunteer capacity to create and maintain policy, make decisions about our strategic goals, work with the staff to set the direction of RainbowYOUTH, and oversee that the organisation runs according to its constitution, vision, mission, values and objectives.

Constitution Changes

RainbowYOUTH’s constitution sets the fundamental purpose and principles that establishes the way in which the organisation is governed. This year, we’re hoping to make a few changes to those principles, as we’ve listed below. Changes will be voted on at our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The changes that will be voted on at the constitution, and are not merely grammatical changes, are sections: 9. d) (i), 10. e), 11. h) (i), 11. h) (ii) b), 15. c), 23. a) (iv).

Bear in mind that only RainbowYOUTH members (young people between 13-27) who attend our AGM can vote on these constitution changes.

If you have any feedback on these changes, please send them through to [email protected] before our AGM.
